Caerfai Bay is just some 1.5 miles on foot from St Davids and is a lovely south facing bay.
Limited parking on the headland above makes for a quiet beach but be sure to set off early if you plan on driving.
From the top of the headland some spectacular views of Skomer and Skokholm Islands can be enjoyed and if you did walk the coastal path to get here some welcome benches have been placed to take in the perfect views.
The cliffs make the beach a sun trap so some care should be taken if you plan to spend a whole day here. Take plenty of liquids to drink as there are no facilities other than the free car park.
Stone from the cliffs here and the nearby Caerbwdi Bay can be found in the Cathedral at St Davids and the beach is good for swimming when the sea is calm.
